API and identity
API, SSO, and integrations for endpoint operations.
FileWave connects to Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, and Keycloak for supported authentication and enrollment workflows; maps LDAP directory groups to administrator access; and provides documented REST API paths for automation, inventory, and operational handoffs.
Operational value
Connect FileWave to identity, automation, and reporting workflows.
Start automation with read-only calls
For scripts and integrations, use a restricted application token from FileWave Central, not the X-CSRFToken used in Swagger. Choose the supported API for your task and test read-only calls before allowing writes.
Test API calls in a controlled environment
Swagger “Try it Out” actions run against the connected FileWave Server. Test API calls in a controlled environment, then add them to production workflows.
SSO connects admin and enrollment workflows
FileWave IdP integration can support login to FileWave Central and Anywhere and can also be used for enrollment flows. When the identity provider supports 2FA/MFA, FileWave admin login can use that provider capability.
Named technology paths
Connect identity, directory, API, and service-management workflows.
Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, and Keycloak
These are supported FileWave identity-provider integrations for administrator login and supported enrollment workflows. Provider-managed MFA can protect FileWave administrator sign-in.
Active Directory and LDAP directories
Map an LDAP group from Active Directory, Open Directory, or eDirectory to a defined set of FileWave administrator permissions. This is directory-backed access, not identity lifecycle management.
Swagger/OpenAPI and FileWave REST APIs
Discover supported public paths, payload structures, field names, and object IDs in FileWave Anywhere, then build guarded automation around the FileWave APIs your workflow requires.
ServiceNow inventory workflows
Use the FileWave REST API to supply device inventory to ServiceNow import workflows. FileWave also documents customer-configured patterns for Slack webhooks and other operational tools without presenting them as native connectors.
Common questions
Common questions about API, SSO, and integrations.
Does FileWave have API documentation?
Yes. FileWave Anywhere provides Swagger/OpenAPI documentation for public API paths and live testing when logged into the admin interface.
Does FileWave support SSO and MFA?
Yes. FileWave supports Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, and Keycloak for administrator login and supported enrollment workflows. When the connected provider requires MFA, that protection carries into FileWave administrator sign-in.
Is FileWave an identity platform?
No. FileWave integrates with identity providers; it should not be positioned as an IAM, directory, MFA, or identity lifecycle product.
